Cayce Welcomes Luke Godbold as the Director of Development Services

The City of Cayce welcomes Luke Godbold as the new Director of Development. Godbold served as the Community & Economic Development Director for the City of Lake City, Interim Project Manager for the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation and an Economic Development Specialist for the North Eastern Strategic Alliance.

A Marion, SC, native, Godbold received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Economics from Francis Marion University. He is a member of the International Economic Development Council and certified by The United States Department of Labor office of Apprenticeship as an Economic Development Specialist.

He is a graduate of the Basic Economic Development Course through the Georgia Institute of Technology, a member of the South Carolina Community Development Association and currently a student at the South Carolina Economic Development Institute.

Michael Conley, Deputy City Manager explained the new position, “Luke’s position will assist in managing our City Planning, Code Compliance, Business Licensees, and Economic Development Departments.”

Cayce City Manager, Jim Crosland, stated, “We look forward to having Luke as a part of our team here in Cayce! His skill set will be an asset to our Cayce citizens and businesses.”
