Cayce Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

CAYCE, SC – The City of Cayce is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Finance Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This award is for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023.

The GFOA states that this is awarded “in recognition of innovative programs that contribute to the practice of government finance and that exemplify outstanding financial management. The awards stresses practical, documented work that offers leadership to the profession and promotes improved public finance.”

Cayce’s financial report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

Cayce’s Interim City Manager, Jim Crosland, stated “The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Finance Reporting is the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting. Our city finance staff works to ensure accurate information in our comprehensive budgeting system and reporting. We are thankful to be recognized for being great stewards of city funds and taxpayer dollars.”
