State Representatives and Local Governments Work Together for Additional Riverwalk Wayfinding Signage

We are so excited to announce that our local State Senator, Nikki Setzler, and our local House of Representatives Member, Rep. Micah Caskey, secured more than $150,000 through a South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT) Grant to add over 40 wayfinding signs to the Cayce Riverwalk and the West Columbia Riverwalk. The new signs will help direct visitors to trails, shops, breweries, art exhibits, galleries and murals as well as great places to eat and enjoy the outdoors!

“I am extremely proud to have been able to secure a grant for the City of Cayce and a grant for the City of West Columbia, for wayfinding signs along the Riverwalks and Riverwalk Arts District. It is a continuation of our joint effort to develop the River and River Arts Districts in both cities and the economic development of our community,” said Senator Nikki Setzler.

Representative Micah Caskey: “I hope that these new signs will make it even easier for more people to come to enjoy all that we have to offer along the river.”

“We are thankful for the incredible support at the State level for one of our greatest natural resources and local attractions – the #CayceRiverwalk along the Congaree River. Senator Setzler and Representative Caskey have had a long-standing vision for supporting both Cayce and West Columbia in our collaborative efforts. This project connects the Riverwalk to the Cayce River Arts District and more. The natural beauty and accessibility of the Riverwalk is vital to our region, and we are excited to take this next step!” exclaimed Cayce Mayor Elise Partin.
