Road Closures for the Stroll on the State Event Tuesday, January 28
January 21, 2020
Dear Residents and Businesses:
The City has been actively engaged in revitalizing State Street through “previtalization” efforts. This process, appropriately described as “the art of what’s possible,” has already led to the redevelopment of several derelict and underutilized properties into new and thriving businesses. The City of Cayce is hosting Stroll on State on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm to showcase how this small area is dynamic with a unique mixture of businesses, art and recreation with more to come.
Piecewise Coffee Co, Swatch Graphics and State of the Art Gallery and Pottery Studio will be opened for the Stroll on State. Also, Cayce is fortunate to have many talented artists who have joined together and formed the Cayce Arts Guild. This is a thriving artist group with over 70 members some of who will be at Stroll on State as well to show their beautiful work. The City’s Art Lot will be newly opened and will have interactive art going on there for the event. There will be musicians busking on the streets and there will be two bars selling Steel Hands beer and wine.
The Stroll will take place on State Street between Lexington Avenue and Railroad Street. Due to your close proximity to the Stroll on State location, I would like to personally invite you to the event and make you aware of the impact it may have on you and/or access to your property.
Stroll on State will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. State Street will be closed from Lexington Avenue to Railroad Street from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the event, set up and tear down.
Portions of Lexington Avenue, Holland Avenue, Railroad Street, Clark Street and Lyles Street will be closed for the event. Residents on these streets will still have access to their homes.
There will be limited parking available to event attendees in the areas adjacent to the event. However, it is anticipated that attendees will utilize street parking around the event area. A larger than normal amount of foot traffic is expected in the area from attendees accessing the event location.
The City of Cayce appreciates your understanding of the increased foot and car traffic during Stroll on State. We hope that these activities do not inconvenience you in any way. We encourage you to attend and celebrate our great city!
