CSX Track Maintenance and Road Closure
CSX Transportation has recently announced a track maintenance project that will begin on Monday, June 30th, 2025. This project includes the installation of new railroad ties along parts of the CSX Columbia subdivision.
It is an overall 6-week project that will end on/around 8/8/25. It impacts the following counties: Lexington and Orangeburg, SC.
Crossings will be closed anywhere from 2-5 days, depending on the type of maintenance they are set to receive. Please note: Crossings will not be closed for the entire duration of the project. They will only be closed for the number of days just mentioned. Included below is a google map showing all crossings that will be getting new ties. There is an “expected” closing on/around date. *Please keep in mind the estimated closure time frames are merely the best approximation that can be provided at this time. These dates are highly subject to change with or without notice simply due to many of the unforeseen circumstances that can occur in the field once the work begins.* With the one way in/out crossings, CSX will work as hard as possible to have those accessible within a 24-hour period (or less).
CSX now utilizes a fully interactive Google map that will allow you to not only view each crossing impacted, but also provide daily, real-time updates. As the project progresses, you will be able to select/click on any icon on the map to access updated information on that individual crossing at any time of the day. When you open the map, you will see a white box to the left of the screen. Simply look for your respective county and click on the crossing(s) of interest labeled under your county.
This map is highly effective to keep not only the municipalities up to date with current information, but also in keeping residents and the overall community informed as well.
