City of Cayce Issues a Sanitary Sewer System Overflow Notification

The City of Cayce Wastewater Maintenance Division identified the Sanitary Sewer overflow as follows:

On Platt Springs Road and Emanuel Church Road

April 25, 2019, at approximately 3:00 PM

A blockage in a sewer main was the cause of the sewer overflow in the gravity sewer system causing sewer to flow into Savannah Branch Creek in West Columbia, SC, in Lexington County  

The overflow location is no longer active and proper cleanup measures are being taken. 

SCDHEC has been notified.
