New CMRTA Bus Route Will Benefit Cayce Residents

Effective Monday, April 1, 2013, the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (CMRTA) will begin Pilot Express Route 26B from the downtown Columbia Transit Center (Sumter and Laurel Streets) to Red Bank Crossing (1070 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC).  This Pilot Express Route will make three round trips every Monday around 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. through June 24th with the exception of Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day).   

 

The 26B Express Service route will have four (4) stops between the Transit Center and Red Bank Crossing, which includes two (2) stops in the City of Cayce: 


1. Knox Abbott and State Streets (Cayce)
2. 12th and Poplar Streets (Cayce)
3. Sunset Boulevard/Craft Street (West Columbia)
4. West Hospital and North Hospital Drives (Lexington Medical Center)


The 26B Express Route will provide transportation to public services available at Red Bank Crossing, including, the Lexington County Health Department, Department of Social Services, and Lexington-Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council.  

 

Fares:

Standard One-way: $1.50 

Seniors: $0.75 

Special Needs: $0.75 

Transfers: $0.25 

Children under 5: Free with paid adult 

One Day Pass: $3.50
