Water TREATMENT Facility
The Stanley Goodwin Water Treatment Facility was constructed in 1990 with the capability of producing six million gallons of potable water daily. An upgrade to the facility was needed in 2000 and production capacity was increased to 9.6 million gallons per day.
Along with an increased water production capability, a new raw water pump station was constructed on the Congaree River. The city water service area is concentrated within the immediate City of Cayce. Water is also provided to nearby areas such as Columbia International Airport, Lexington Industrial Park, Saxe Gotha Industrial Park, and other portions of Lexington County.
Currently, the water treatment facility is a twenty-four hour continuous operation, with a dedicated staff of ten state certified operators. We take pride in providing clean, safe, potable drinking water for our fellow citizens. We encourage you to come by for a visit and see the facility.
